One night, we received an urgent call about 18 dogs left behind in an old house on the outskirts of the city. Among them was a mother dog with her newborn puppies. It was heartbreaking to find them abandoned in such dreadful conditions, especially with bad weather looming.
Despite being exhausted and anxious, the mother dog did all she could to care for her puppies, moving them to keep them safe from harm.
Sadly, the mother fell ill, and her puppies began to weaken. Six of them did not survive, leaving the mother in critical condition, barely able to stand.

We quickly rushed them to the hospital, where the mother dog, Serena, was diagnosed with dehydration, anemia, and a positive Ehrlichia test. Her condition was severe and required intensive treatment for at least three days.

Even while suffering, Serena focused on the well-being of her surviving puppies. Her dedication was a true testament to a mother’s love and sacrifice. Witnessing Serena’s fight to survive alongside her eleven puppies stirred emotions of sadness, fear, and a glimmer of hope within us. We worked tirelessly to ensure they all received the care they needed.
Sleepless nights presented us with challenges, but seeing Serena and her puppies grow stronger each day made all our efforts worthwhile. We provided extra care and encouragement, knowing the path to recovery would be long and arduous.

As days passed, Serena and her puppies became healthier and happier. Their resilience and determination inspired us to continue our mission to rescue and nurture animals in need. Despite the hardships, the journey with Serena and her puppies reaffirmed our commitment to making a difference in their lives.
