When we arrived, we found a husky named Jake in dire condition, suffering from a severe skin disease and barely clinging to life. I made a promise to him that I would find the help he desperately needed.
In a heart-wrenching display, he mustered what strength he had to lift his head, as if pleading for rescue. The hour-long journey to the emergency vet felt like an eternity, each breath he took was a race against time.

Jake was so poorly that his eyes couldn’t even open. After examining his X-rays, it appeared he might have a bullet or pellet lodged inside him, a cruel testament to deliberate human harm.
Jake’s plight didn’t develop overnight or even in a few days; it was a tragedy that countless people had overlooked. He deserved far more than the painful life he had been forced to endure.

Thanks to syringe feeding, Jake discovered an appetite for food that sparked his will to fight back. Just two weeks later, Jake proved to be a true miracle, managing to stand and take a few supported steps.
His resilience fills us with pride. Jake’s condition is steadily improving with no setbacks, and he continues to make small strides every day.

Jake now enjoys daily short walks with assistance, an inspiring sight for those of us who first found him. He’s visibly taller than we initially imagined.
Yesterday marked a milestone as he began his physiotherapy journey. Although it left him exhausted, he tackled it admirably and made it through the session.
