“Look at this poor dog,” said one of the rescuers as they approached a trembling Doberman. Once proud ears had now been terribly damaged, evidence of severe neglect and brutality. “My goodness,” whispered another, taken aback by the sight.
The call for help had brought them to the outskirts of Harbin, where the Harbin Li Liu Small Animal Rescue Camp quickly mobilized.
In the community, the abandoned Doberman was a shadow of its formerly strong and majestic breed. “I think he’s unwell,” one rescuer speculated sadly. “So they just dumped him,” another added, filled with empathy. The rescue team set out with a sense of purpose, moved by compassion, to understand the dog’s tragic ordeal. “Was he abandoned by someone?” they wondered aloud, piecing together the dog’s story.

When they arrived, they found the dog weak and wary, with uneaten food nearby. “He doesn’t want to eat,” someone noted with a heavy heart, recognizing the depth of the dog’s suffering.
At the animal hospital, the seriousness of the injuries became dreadfully apparent. “His ears are in awful condition,” gasped one rescuer, a mix of anger and sorrow in their voice. “Nailed! Pinned with a nail!” another exclaimed, uncovering the extent of human cruelty inflicted upon the dog.

The young Doberman, just two months old, fought bravely but ultimately succumbed to the final stages of distemper. “Sadly, we can’t save this little Doberman,” the veterinarian announced as the rescue team stood heartbroken despite their best efforts.
“Goodbye, little one,” murmured Mother Li, cradling the puppy. “There’s no pain on Doggie Planet.” They wished the dog had experienced kindness and safety, away from the cruelty that ended its life so soon.

“In the end, there might have been a home that would have loved him for his ‘imperfect’ looks,” they hoped, mourning the loss of a life that deserved so much more. “Rest in peace, my dear,” they whispered, honoring the memory of the dog who endured so much but deserved only to be loved.
