During the COVID-19 pandemic, a young puppy named Lak suffered horrendous abuse, highlighting a case of severe animal cruelty.
Lak’s owner, often described as heartless, poured boiling water on the little dog and abandoned him when he did not obey commands. When rescuers found him, Lak was in a terrible state, with nearly all the skin on his head severely damaged.

At the time of his ordeal, Lak was just a few weeks old and had not yet been trained. Expecting an untrained puppy to follow orders was unrealistic and cruel, leading to his unnecessary suffering.
Once rescued, Lak was both physically and mentally scarred. He spent most of his first days after rescue sleeping, indicating how deeply the incident had affected him.
As days passed, Lak started showing signs of recovery. Within a week, his condition had improved noticeably; the skin on his forehead began to heal, and Lak even managed to smile, demonstrating his intelligence and resilience.

The rescue team pointed out that his previous owner should have invested time in training rather than inflicting harm.
About a month after his rescue, Lak’s physical injuries had healed sufficiently to allow fur growth once more.
Alongside his physical recovery, efforts were made to help Lak heal emotionally, with rescuers spending time talking to him daily to aid his mental recuperation.

Lak’s story gained widespread attention online, eliciting both offers of help and adoption. Such was the interest in giving Lak a loving home that a lottery was conducted to select his new family.
Ultimately, a family from the United States was chosen to provide Lak with a forever home. Now, Lak is a healthy and happy puppy, eagerly awaiting his new life.
As for Lak’s former owner, one can only wonder if they will ever feel remorse for the suffering they inflicted.
