Her owner constantly told her she didn’t deserve food, and she eventually started to believe him. However, one day she felt a loving touch, and it reignited hope in her heart.
Angel is one of the most courageous dogs we have encountered. They are a bold reminder that even though some may have endured abuse or been neglected in the past, it doesn’t mean they can’t be amazing pets. Their previous experiences with humans shouldn’t determine whether other good humans can earn their trust again.
The rescuers found Angel barely alive; her ribs were visible under her skin, and it was clear she wasn’t getting any food. She looked malnourished and more like a skeleton than a dog.
The individuals who found her didn’t think much could be done to improve her appearance. However, they fought for her because everyone deserves a chance.
Angel suffered from neglect for many years, which not only took a toll on her health, but also her personality. She didn’t think things could get better for her, but she was wrong. When she ended up in the care of the volunteers at Rescue From The Hart, she started to thrive.
Her rescuers knew that, although she was in need of food, her body wouldn’t be able to handle much of it–so they fed her small amounts of food and gradually increased the amount day by day.
Except for the food, Angel was given a lot of medicine that helped with her pain and the sores covering her fragile body.
But as days went by, Angel gradually felt better. In a video, Rescue From The Hart said, “We lent her our strength until one day she found her own.” And it was volunteers’ support, love, and care that gave Angel the courage to keep going.
After she started to look like a regular dog, Angel was placed in a foster home. But, she didn’t stay long because her forever family found her soon after.
