A very sweet memory.
A true tail
of peace, kindness, and compassion regardless their differences. Sometimes lessons in life are delivered by shoving us off a cliff…others are more gentle and with humor. Way to paws for the moment. 
I woke up this morning in East Texas, poured my coffee, looked out the window… and almost dropped the mug…
There they were.
A dog and a cat.
Sitting on top of my mailbox like they were waiting for the school bus.
Not fighting.
Not chasing.
Just sitting there.
Side by side.
Like they owned the street.
The dog looked proud. Chest out. Tail relaxed. Like security detail.
The cat?
The cat looked like it was running the entire operation.
Calm. Unbothered. In charge.
They weren’t even looking at each other. They were staring down the neighborhood like two retired detectives who’ve seen things.
I stepped outside and said, “Y’all expecting a package or running for mayor?”
That’s the best picture! 
The cat blinked slowly.
The dog gave one single wag.
That was it.
No explanation.
No invitation.
Just silent judgment from the VIP section of Suburban Politics.
I don’t know what’s going on in East Texas this week.
But apparently the mailbox is now a penthouse suite.
And somehow…
I’m the only one not important enough to be up there.
Dogs and cats, living together in peace, harmony, and high-rise comfort!
