A stray dog lying flat on her stomach in the middle of a road caught the attention of a passerby one morning.

Her belly was alarmingly swollen, and she appeared to be in distress, unable to sit up or move beyond a few weak kicks of her legs.
Despite her condition, the dog tried to wag her tail, offering a gentle, trusting look through teary eyes.

When the concerned observer got closer, it became clear just how uncomfortable and exhausted she must have been.
Overwhelmed with emotion, they quickly decided to help.
With help from a friend, they carefully lifted the dog into a car and drove her to a veterinary hospital. There, veterinarians discovered the cause of her condition: her abdomen was filled with more than four liters of fluid.

The diagnosis was ascites, a buildup of fluid that had likely developed over a long period of time, putting pressure on her organs and draining her strength.
The medical team immediately began treatment, draining the fluid and starting her on blood transfusions and medication.

Her belly began to flatten, and her condition showed early signs of improvement.
Though the road to recovery may still be long, the dog’s resilience and will to live are clear. Her rescuers and the veterinary staff are hopeful that she’ll continue to heal and one day enjoy the life she deserves.
