Harbin Li Liu’s Small Animal Rescue Center recently responded to a desperate call for help from a scenic location where a critically injured dog was struggling to survive.
Witnesses saw the dog collapse, its frail body covered in sores. Volunteers rushed to the scene, overcoming obstacles like a tall fence and difficult terrain to reach the distressed animal.
Onlookers described how the dog managed to evade capture by hiding under a fence as someone on an electric bike passed by. Two brave sisters stayed behind, ensuring the dog would not suffer further harm until the rescue team arrived.
Upon reaching the dog, the rescuers discovered it was a German Shepherd in dire condition, with swollen paws and infected eyes, clearly suffering from neglect and distress. Despite its pain, the dog exhibited resilience; it bit out of fear but eventually allowed itself to be rescued.
At the veterinary hospital, the dog was diagnosed with canine distemper, severe skin infections, and organ damage. The medical team, led by the compassionate efforts of Liu Li, spared no effort in treating the dog despite its grim outlook.
Back at the rescue center, the dog continued to receive dedicated care. Over time, its condition slowly improved, and the bleeding in its eyes and body began to subside. Each day presented a struggle, but the dog’s remarkable courage won the affection and admiration of everyone involved in its recovery.
