It was raining heavily when Courtney and her husband, Russell, were driving down a road in the middle of nowhere in Georgia, Louisiana.
When Russell spotted a dog on the roadside, he screeched to a stop, got out of the car, and rushed to the doggo’s aid.
Once he approached her, he knelt down and the pup started jumping in his arms, covering him in kisses. She was grateful because Russell stopped by to check up on her.
Freezing and soaking wet, the dog, later named Romee, longed for a warm home and some love.
Little did she know that she would get more than she ever hoped for.
Saving A Life
Russell, who is an animal lover, has saved many animals but the connection he made with Romee was something his wife, Courtney, never saw before.
The moment she saw them together, Courtney knew that her husband would keep the dog if she didn’t have her own family.
Russell picked Romee up and hugged her.
Although the pup couldn’t stop shaking with cold, she melted in her rescuer’s arms. She felt safe at last.Romee kept wagging her tail while Russel was carrying her toward the car. She sensed that she would finally get the help she needed.
They bought Romee food and fed her. She was starving and she gulped down all the food.
Courtney and Russell brought her to the vet where she was examined. The vet scanned Romee for a microchip but she didn’t have one.
The couple tried to find her family and posted about her everywhere.
Considering the circumstances in which Romee was found, the vet was convinced that the pup was abandoned.
Since nobody claimed her, her heroes decided to keep her and give her the life she deserved.
A Forever Home Romee Always Dreamed Of
They took her home, cared for her, and showered her with love.
In the beginning, the dog was a bit shy, but after spending two days at her new home, she felt comfortable.
She turned out to be a real love bug. She enjoys cuddling with her parents and covering them with kisses.
Romee got along with their other dogs and she played with them.
The pup loves her parents, but her bond with her dad is out of this world. They are best friends.
“I love watching Romee and my husband because their relationship is unmatched. I’ve never seen anything like it. I loved it from the second he picked her up,“ Courtney added.
Romee lives her best life in Covington, Louisiana with her family and her doggy siblings.
