I’ve witnessed all kinds of neglect and abuse towards dogs, but nothing is more enraging than when it’s done intentionally.
When someone adopts a puppy, the last thing you expect is for them to treat the dog this way.
The poor pup hasn’t done anything to deserve such cruelty.
This sweet dog was unfortunately facing the same mistreatment from her owner.
He was driving his truck, dragging her along by a chain, while the poor dog struggled to keep up.
It was a heartbreaking sight that left everyone who saw it horrified. Without hesitation, they called the local authorities for help.
She Was Finally Saved
As soon as authorities arrived, the dog, Charli, was taken from her owner and placed in a shelter.
The staff quickly noticed that Charli was shy but gentle. She loved being around people, her tail wagging when she felt safe.
However, that doesn’t mean she trusted everyone right away. Charli was very hesitant when meeting new people, likely due to the abuse she had endured.
I can’t comprehend how anyone could put her through such suffering. She certainly didn’t deserve it.
The shelter staff felt that it wouldn’t be safe for Charli to stay in Texas, so they reached out to Austin Pets Alive! for assistance.
Thanks to their efficient transportation system, they could quickly move Charli to a safer place.
This system allows them to save around 3,000 animals each year, which is absolutely incredible.
Charli Remains Hopeful
When it was time to transfer Charli, she was understandably scared. The abuse had taken its toll, and she was reluctant to trust anyone.
Soon, Charli was on her way to a new life with the other rescued dogs.
In an Instagram post, the rescuers wrote, “Right now, in a transport van with 25 other dogs on their way to Chicago, Charli is starting a new journey to find someone who loves her.”
Everyone is hopeful that Charli will find a loving, special person who will cherish her.
Given her past, she needs someone patient and gentle to help her heal from her trauma.
