Lily, a sweet two-year-old brown dog, was abandoned by her owner in the woods of New York, where she spent several weeks without food. She weighed only 13 pounds when found, sitting on a blue shirt left behind by her owner, with a small crate nearby. Despite being left alone, Lily stayed faithful, waiting for her owner to return.
A kind woman discovered her and, unable to take her in, fed Lily and contacted Animal Lighthouse Rescue. Rescuers arrived to find her still waiting. Lily was examined by a vet and, thankfully, was in good health despite her ordeal. Though scared and confused, she’s now looking for a loving home. With time, the shelter believes Lily will regain her happy, loyal self and be the perfect addition to a new family.
