What are your thoughts on this incident?

Whether human or animal, the instinct to protect a child is powerful.
That’s brilliant news animals are starting to [fi.gh.t] back.

Dosio was on a hunting trip in the Central African nation when he and his guide unexpectedly came across a group of African forest elephants. The herd reportedly included several female elephants and a young calf.
What happened next turned [de.ad.ly].
The elephants [cha.rg.ed], and Dosio was fatally [tr.amp.led]. His guide [survived] but suffered serious [in.ju.ri.es].

[Reports] indicate that Dosio was not [hu.nti.ng] elephants at the time. He and his guide were reportedly tracking a yellow-backed duiker, a species of forest antelope, when they encountered the herd in dense vegetation. With limited visibility and a calf present, the elephants likely saw the men as a [th.re.at].

Ernie Dosio was a California vineyard owner and a longtime trophy [hu.nter]. He was known in [hu.nti.ng] circles and had participated in [hu.nti.ng] expeditions around the world over the years.
The incident has sparked [int.ense] debate online.

Some people view it as a [tr.agic a.cc.ide.nt] involving one of the world’s largest and most powerful wild animals. Others see it as a reminder that animals are not trophies, and that wild creatures will do whatever they can to protect their families.

One thing is clear. The elephants were not acting like [vi.lla.ins]. They were acting like protectors.
Elephants are famous for their strong family bonds. Mothers, sisters, aunts, and other members of the herd work together to care for young calves. When a baby is nearby, the entire group becomes highly protective. In the wild, that instinct can mean the difference between life and [de.ath].

The desire to protect a child is not unique to humans. It exists throughout the animal kingdom. Whether it is a bird guarding its nest, a bear defending her cubs, or an elephant standing between danger and a calf, family matters.
This story is a powerful reminder that wild animals have their own lives, their own relationships, and their own families to protect.

Wild animals have as much right to be on this planet and live their lives as human beings do.
If humans do not respect animals in their homes, the animals will need to do what it takes to protect themselves.

Well done elephant! 🐘 Good for them.
