A touching love story has captured the attention of people around the world after a couple who spent 62 years together passed away within hours of each other — with their family sharing that they were holding hands during their final moments.
Don and Maxine Simpson’s journey began more than six decades ago when they first met at a bowling alley. Don, a civil engineer originally from North Dakota, later moved to California for work, where their relationship grew into a lifelong partnership.

According to the family, Maxine passed away first while holding Don’s hand. Just a few hours later, Don also passed away.
