A stray kitten slipped into a dog shelter overnight and passed every kennel—until she stopped at the pit bull no one wanted. By morning, they were curled up together.
When shelter staff opened Mammy’s kennel during cleanup, they [fr.oze]. Mammy was a pit bull who had been [overlooked] for over a month. No visitors. No interest. Just another day of being judged by her breed.
But she wasn’t alone anymore.
A tiny st.ray kitten was nestled against her chest. Curled up. Fast asleep. As if she’d been there for hours.

Then she reached Mammy.
