Indah, a sweet, courageous mama dog, faced this heartbreak when her owner abandoned her with her newborn puppies at a market garbage dump.
She was desperate to feed her tiny, hungry babies, and with nothing else to eat, she began foraging through garbage to produce enough milk for them.
A Cry for Help
Indah often approached people at the market, pleading for assistance, but they misunderstood her cries and chased her away, mistaking her desperation for aggression. Fortunately, some local children noticed her plight.
Though unsure of her intentions, they sensed her need for help. Unable to assist her on their own, they reached out to a rescue team.
When the rescuers arrived, they found a frightened but devoted mother who was protecting her hidden puppies.
Moved by her bravery, they gradually earned her trust by offering food, and Indah, feeling their kindness, allowed them to gather her babies.
Help Arrives for the Canine Family
The rescuers named her Indah and brought her and her puppies to a veterinary clinic for a full check-up. At only 1 to 1.5 years old, Indah was malnourished, suffering from scabies, and her body was covered in ticks.
The vet team also confirmed her diet had consisted solely of garbage, but thankfully, she didn’t need surgery.
Feeling Safe and Loved
Indah’s puppies were healthy, nestled close to each other, warm, and safe for the first time. The rescue team provided this little family with all the care, nourishment, and affection they needed.
Finally, Indah could relax in a cozy place, surrounded by people who truly cared.
Over time, Indah’s puppies thrived and eventually found loving forever homes. After they left, Indah was able to focus on herself.
Her once sorrowful eyes filled with joy, and she now enjoys every moment with her rescuers.
